Show Media was founded in 1999 by Laurence Hallier who is considered the pioneer of the taxi advertising industry. Prior to Show Media, Hallier launched Taxi Tops in 1992 which became the largest taxi media company in the world. In the early 1990’s, taxi ads were mostly non-illuminated metal signs which featured tobacco advertising and other not so great ads. Hallier innovated with newly designed illuminated taxi tops, launched fully-wrapped taxicab ads, scrolling bus side ads as well as launched interior and exterior digital displays. The company grew to include 24,000 taxicabs in 14 cities, 3 countries and was sold in August 2000 to Clear Channel Outdoor.
Show Media has over 20 years of experience including from 1999-2004 being the fastest growing billboard company in the U.S., launching the first Android powered interactive network in thousands of taxicabs to the first paid advertising on major airlines.
